My name is Stephen, I am in my mid 50s and I have had an interest in photography for a number of years, but have only ever used my camera for holiday snaps. I spent many years taking landscapes along with my partner on our holidays to the Lake District. The in 2023 my world changed an I lost my partner suddenly. This pushed me to find a hobby that that would keep me busy, push my creative side and keep my mental health in check. My late partner always said I under estimated my ability and now it’s time for me to take his advice and believe in myself. So I decided to take a journey into amateur photography. The first part of my journey is a Level 1 photography course, which I am undertaking with Walsall College.
I mentioned my name was Stephen, so why is my site not my name? The simple reason is that I wanted to keep the memory of my late partner in this project, so the site name and address are an amalgamation of our initials.
